Martin Parent – Chairman of the Board
Mr. Parent is a graduate of the Université du Québec à Montréal, BBA and a graduate of the MBA program at the University of British Columbia. Mr. Parent is a senior executive with over 15 years experience in the consumer packaged goods and Wireless Telecom industries. Since 2003 he has worked for Cadbury Adams, the largest Confectionery organization in Canada which markets and sells gum, chocolate and candy products, and a division of Cadbury Schweppes PLC. In 2005 he was appointed Vice-President, Marketing Total Confectionery and Seasonal. In July 2008 he was appointed Vice- President of Sales for South East Asia.
Prior to Cadbury Adams, Mr. Parent was with Microcell Solutions, a wireless communications company that launched the first Canadian branded PCS service called FIDO. FIDO was recognized as the #1 Brand in the PCS category until purchased by Rogers Communications in 2004. From 2002 -2003 he was Vice-President, Fido Sales & Distribution where he was responsible and accountable for the achievement of a National Business Plan across all channels of distribution and all user segments, through a team of 600 individuals.
Doug Buchanan, President & CEO, Director
In addition to being the President and CEO of VendTek Systems Inc. and Now Prepay Corp. Mr. Buchanan was a co-founder of VendTek. Mr. Buchanan has been a member of the Advisory Board of Intele-Card News (an important trade journal in the prepaid telecom industry for North America) since 1999. He was a co-founder of RAD Robotics and Automation Development Corporation in 1987, and Director from 1987 to 1990. Mr. Buchanan also worked at HA Simons as a Consulting Engineer 1987 to 1991. Mr. Buchanan holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University, a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UBC, and a Diploma of Technology from BCIT.
Garth Albright, Director and Chairperson of the Audit Committee
Mr. Albright has more than 30 years of progressively senior experience in financial reporting, accounting, regulatory compliance, equity capital markets, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, and IT operations. He has served as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Gemcom Software International Inc., the largest global supplier of specialised mining productivity solutions, since 2003. He previously held senior financial positions with a number of public and private companies including Peace Arch Entertainment Ltd., Cannect Communications Inc., Shoppers Drug Mart and Cominco Engineering Services Ltd.
Mr. Albright is a seasoned executive with a successful track record of leading global companies through significant periods of change, while driving profitability, growth and operational excellence. He is a Certified Management Accountant and a director of the British Columbia Technology Industry Association.
Gordon Glenn, Director
Mr. Glenn has 35 years of corporate management experience in the healthcare, government information technology and transaction processing industries, including 20 years at the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer level. He is experienced in all facets of executive management of public companies including strategic planning, organizational development, budgeting and forecasting, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, public offerings and investor/analyst relations (U.S. and Canada).
Mr. Glenn joined SXC Health Solutions Inc. ("SXC") in June 1998 as President and Chief Executive Officer and was named Chairman in 2006. When he joined the company, SXC was an unprofitable Canadian-based, software company with $8 million in revenue and a market capitalization of less than $10 million. Today, the Chicago-based company is a pharmacy benefits management and healthcare information-technology (IT) company publicly traded on the NASDAQ (SXCI) and the Toronto Stock (SXC) Exchanges that generates more than $1 billion in annual revenue. Mr. Glenn completed his tenth year as CEO with SXC posting a revenue run-rate of more than $800 million, strong earnings and cash flow, and a solid balance sheet. He increased SXC’s market capitalization sixty-fold to more than $600 million since taking over as CEO. During his tenure he sourced, financed, closed and integrated three successful acquisitions of U.S. companies that expanded product/service offerings and increased EPS, yielding improved investor interest.
Rob Cruickshank
Mr. Cruickshank brings a wealth of experience from his years in the B.C. technology industry. Mr. Cruickshank served as President of the British Columbia Technology Industries Association (BCTIA). Prior to joining BCTIA, he had a long and successful career with TELUS/BCTEL serving in many executive roles including over four years as the President of BCTEL Mobility. He left BCTEL in 1999 when the organization merged with TELUS (Alberta), rejoined in 2001, and spent the next three years helping TELUS significantly improve its cost position and share price. Between 1999 and 2001 he served as President of Mobile Data Solutions Inc. (MDSI) an international software company specializing in workforce management and wireless data solutions. In 1992, he attended the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development and recently completed Institute of Corporate Directors Professional Directors Program.
Mr. Cruickshank currently serves as Chair of the Board of Director's of St George's School. Along with Chairing the Board of Carmanah Technologies he also serves on the Advisory Board of both AfterCAD Software Inc. and Nutri-Loc, two early stage technology companies.
