eFresh Mobile is a java application that can be deployed on phones with Java mobile version 1.4.2 or higher. A combination of eFresh Mobile with a Bluetooth printer provides the same functionality as a POS terminal for selling multiple prepaid products at much lower cost. The application communicates with the eFresh server via GPRS.

A simple menu interface supports the following functions: Download and print eVouchers on a mobile or desktop Bluetooth printer. Transfer eCash balance to merchants. Track eCash collections. Print reports and retrieve the merchant's last transaction details. Retrieve the merchant's current eCash balance.

The results of each request are presented in real time on the mobile phone screen.

The Merchant is assigned a unique merchant ID and terminal ID along with a password. The user downloads the java application from the Internet. After the application is installed, the setup option is used to enter the IP address of the eFresh server along with the assigned merchant and terminal ID's.

The setup option also allows for configuring the Bluetooth printer, testing the data connection as well as tracking transaction reference ID and eVoucher receipt numbers.

Each time the application starts the user must enter the password. Then simply selecting the desired function from the main menu will present the entry screen for that function. Follow the prompts and the transaction result will be printed on the thermal printer or displayed on the phone's screen if no printer is available.

The application uses an assigned merchant and terminal ID as well as a password. The communications are encrypted using HTTPS protocol over the internet using the phone's GPRS connection.

eFresh Mobile can be configured to work with any battery operated mobile printers for street vendors and taxi drivers or desktop printers for normal stores.
